REALIZATION 2013 - 2014

The facility is designed to house unique advanced equipment providing computing power and data storage capacity shared by several entities from the science, research and educational sectors and, in future, commercial sectors. The importance and application of this centre, unique in the Czech Republic, is ranked it among the European supercomputing network. The facility is built in the premises of VŠB - Technical University of Ostrava. It is extended the premises being located next to the main building of Ostrava Science & Technology Park. The architectonic design emphasizes the house mass in the form of a compact cuboid which, in its simplicity, presents a sort of metal computer box. The cuboid displays a strong motif - a schematic representation of flat joint. The vertical lines - nerves - pass through all the building width and the dynamics of their breaking forms the basis of overall architectonic expression of the building. The interior design is dominated by an atrium providing illumination and creating a multifunctional environment. This space will maximize the flexibility of application including presentations, meetings, education, etc.. The architect endeavoured to combine the utilization of cybernetic capacity and human potential in the building.
